World Wide Web Consortium

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is the main international standards organization for the World Wide Web. It is arranged as a consortium where member organizations maintain full-time staff for the purpose of working together in the development of standards for the World Wide Web.

It is managed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the United States, the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics (ERCIM) in Europe and the Keio University in Japan.

The W3 Internet realizations are consistent with the W3C recommendations and are XHTML 1.0 and CSS level 2 validated.
